Bullies and consequences
Bullies often don't think about the affect their words and actions have. Some do, and use those affects as their intention and motivation for doing it. But even with knowing what the affects are, they don't think about the consequences their choices more than likely will have.
For example, two young central Florida faced felony aggravated stalking charges for bullying a 12-year old classmate Rebecca Sedwick, who committed suicide.
"This bullying crossed the line from teen meanness to criminal harassment."
Rebecca received cruel text messages and online messages from the two teens, and was also physically attacked by the two girls, according to the sheriff's department.
Sedwick had been hospitalized after a suicide attempt in 2012 and also changed schools, but the bullying continued online. After 2 other high-profile teen suicides in 2010- Tyler Clementi and Pheobe Prince, criminal charges were brought against students who had bullied them.
